Dr. Otto Dohm of Dakota Periodontics specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the gums and bone surrounding the teeth.The word periodontal means "around the tooth." Periodontal or gum disease is the process of losing the bone and gum that support the roots of your teeth. The disease can be caused by plaque, tartar, and bacteria buildup around the teeth and under the gum tissue.
