About us
Dr. Wyland specializes in sports injuries of the knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle. His practice routinely includes Shoulder rotator cuff and labral repairs, instability procedures as well as knee meniscal repairs and Anterior Cruciate reconstruction with the latest all-inside techniques. Furthermore, Dr. Wyland has special interest and expertise in cartilage preservation and restoration techniques including meniscal transplant, cartilage regeneration options, realignment osteotomies around the knee as well as patellofemoral instability and arthritis. He graduated from the University of North Carolina, where he was a two-time All-American wrestler, and attended UNC School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center and his fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine through the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. Dr. Wyland was in practice 4 years at Steadman Hawkins Denver clinic before moving his family back home to South Carolina in 2006 to help grow the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. Currently, Dr. Wyland lives in Simpsonville with his wife and 5 children and he is team physician for Boiling Springs High School and still a consultant to the Colorado Rockies baseball club. He enjoys golfing and working out regularly as well as coaching his kids and traveling with his family.
