About us
Downriver Canoe Company is a family-run river outfitter in operation for over 50 years in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, about an hour’s drive west of Washington, DC. At Downriver, we pride ourselves on great service with a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere. We offer canoe, kayak, raft, and tube trips on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River, a gently flowing mountain river through a rural landscape abundant with wildlife and great fishing. Choose from trips from 1 hour to all day and even overnight floats with riverside camping. Note: The minimum age for any float trip is 5 years. We rent mountain bikes and e-bikes, too, and we're perfectly situated so you can bike to the state park from our shop for an unforgettable outdoor escape!
