Our goal is to provide quality veterinary care in the security of your pet's home. We concentrate on complete pet care and wellness. Most of our work is done at your home, where both you and your pet can be kept at ease with out the stress of going to the veterinary hospital. However, when hospitalization, advanced diagnostics or surgery is needed, we work through local hospitals or your regular hospital veterinarian to get the job done. Dr. Bennett works with the best local specialists, including UC Davis, to make sure your pet is provided with the finest cutting-edge medicine available. Our service areas includes all of the following areas in Alameda County, Contra Costa County, Solano county, Marin County: Alamo, Albany, Benicia, Berkeley, Clayton, Concord, Crockett, Danville, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Emeryville, Hercules, Kensington, Lafayette, Larkspur, Martinez, Moraga, Oakland, Orinda, Piedmont, Pleasant Hill, Richmond, Rodeo and Walnut Creek. Physical Exam: Because our pets have shorter life spans than humans, the onset and progression of disease can be very subtle and undetectable to most caretakers. Dr. Bennett examines your pet in the comfort of your home with superb bedside manner. Your pet's health can be more accurately assessed under these conditions because clinical signs are not masked by the adrenaline surge caused by coming to the hospital. All measures will be reviewed and offered to help ensure a happier and healthier life for your furry loved one. Illness: Vomiting, diarrhea, excessive thirst, increased urination, lethargy, coughing and weight loss are all signs of illness. The sooner these problems are assessed, the better chance of successful treatment and recovery. Dr. Bennett will make sure your pet receives the best treatment within your home and at local referral hospitals if needed. Cuts, abscesses, contusions: Most noncritical trauma can be handled at home. Dr. Bennett employs sedation and local anesthesia (numbing) to suture small lacerations, lance and clean abscesses and to assess other unfortunate mishaps. Surgery: Most surgeries can be done by Dr. Bennett at local hospitals; others may require a board certified surgeon. Dr. Bennett works with the best local specialists, including UC Davis, to make sure your pet receives the best care. If possible, surgery can also be done by your regular hospital veterinarian. Behavior: Behavioral problems can be misunderstood by the caretaker and resolution sometimes depends on modification of family habits and environmental conditions. Dr. Bennett believes it is crucial that behavior consultation take place at the pet's home so that he can assess every aspect of your pet's life and problem. Dr. Bennett will educate you thoroughly and make a plan to bring everything back to normal. Chronic disease and Geriatric care: Unfortunately, some of us must live with problems we were born with or acquire as we grow older. Dr. Bennett will provide you with all the knowledge and equipment to make your pet as comfortable, productive, and happy as possible. Oftentimes in-home diagnostics to monitor your pet's condition are more accurate, and treatment regimens can be more successful without the stress of going back and forth to the veterinary hospital. Euthanasia: When the time arrives to say goodbye, taking a pet to the veterinary hospital is not always the ideal situation. Dr.Bennett will help your pet make the transition peacefully by employing sedation and perfect bedside manner within your home. Private Cremation services and general care of remains are available.
