As an infectious disease physician, Dr. John R. Bolden Jr. specializes in conditions caused by pathogenic agents, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites, which may or may not be contagious. Infectious disease often is caused when the body's immune system is unable to fight off the invading germ.
