About us
Dr. John Rothrock is a specialty care physician board certified in neurology and vascular neurology at Inova Health System. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Rothrock was Professor and Vice Chairman for George Washington University’s neurology department. Along with conducting epidemiologic research intended to better characterize various aspects of cerebrovascular disease and migraine, Dr. Rothrock and his colleagues have assisted in the development of such therapies as intravenous t-PA for acute stroke therapy; warfarin for stroke prevention in individuals with atrial fibrillation; clopidogrel for stroke prevention; self-injectable sumatriptan for acute migraine; and divalproex sodium, topiramate and onabotulinumtoxinA for migraine prophylaxis.
