When current owner Max Mosholder first began working at Dumbauld's Tire in 1952 as a high school senior, he sold about nine sizes of passenger tires. Now, at the age of 80, Mosholder knows several hundred sizes are needed to accommodate today's market.
Dumbauld's Tires opened its doors in 1945 when Pete Dumbauld, an astute businessman, envisioned building a tire business that served the travelers and truckers on the newly constructed Pennsylvania Turnpike. Dumbauld started with Jarrett Motor Freight Lines and added deals with many other trucking companies to provide 24/7 road service.
