About us

Elizabeth B. Almon, MD, is a board-certified General Surgeon with the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the Southeastern Surgical Congress. Dr. Almon grew up in Newnan and was the valedictorian at East Coweta High School. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a specialization in Biotechnology. She then earned her Medical degree from Mercer University and completed her internship and residency at the Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon, GA. Dr. Almon then returned home to practice at Piedmont Newnan where she has special interests in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. Since returning to Newnan, she has been a speaker at the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. She was elected Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Piedmont Newnan ad serves on the Piedmont Clinic Surgical Services Clinical Governance Council. In her spare time, Dr. Almon enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her two children.
