You should always remember BE FAST. This acronym helps you recognize the signs of a stroke and act quickly:
-Balance — Sudden loss of balance
-Eyes — Blurred vision in one or both eyes
-Face — Face drooping or looks uneven
-Arms — One arm becomes weak or numb
-Speech — Slurred speech or seems confused
-Time — If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, call 911 immediately
LVH–Schuylkill is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center – the preferred destination for local EMS when stroke is suspected.

If you’re experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, or discomfort in your arms, neck, jaw or back — call 911 immediately. Our MI Alert for Heart Attacks program enables paramedics to begin treatment in the field and alert our emergency team before you arrive.
LVH–Schuylkill is recognized by the American College of Cardiology for excellence in chest pain care. If needed, patients can be transferred to another Lehigh Valley Health Network hospital for advanced cardiac procedures.
