About us
Growing up in Western Africa, I saw how important healthcare, and having access to healthcare, was. My mother told me stories about how lone midwives in villages were responsible for ensuring safe births. She told me the story of one midwife who singlehandedly successfully completed a breech delivery. After hearing these stories, I felt that medicine was my divine calling and I knew it was the only career for me. \n The Golden Rule is my guiding principle in both medicine and in life: I always strive to treat people the way I want to be treated. I credit my humble beginnings and the sense of duty instilled in me during the time I spent in military service with making me even more dedicated to serving all patients to the best of my ability. During medical school in Ghana, I was fortunate to research the prevalence of yaws in a small nearby town. Yaws is an infectious disease found in tropical areas that causes skin lesions and can lead to permanent disability if not treated. This showed me how important it is to make care accessible to every patient who needs it, which is what I strive to do each day. \n I am married to my bedrock and ever-dependable wife, Matilda. We have been blessed with a son and two daughters. Nearly all of my free time is devoted to my family. I also love to watch my favorite soccer team, Arsenal FC, play.
