Bricklaying is both an art and a science, involving the skillful placement of bricks and mortar to create strong, durable structures. A mason then mixes the mortar, which serves as the adhesive to hold the bricks together. Once the mortar is prepared, the mason starts laying the first course of bricks. Bricks are placed in a row, with each brick being carefully aligned to ensure the wall remains straight and level. The mason applies mortar to both the underside and sides of each brick, ensuring a secure bond. A key part of bricklaying is the use of a level and plumb line, which helps ensure the wall is vertically straight and horizontally even. As each brick is laid, mortar joints are struck to create a smooth, even finish.
