About us

Flagler Institute for Rehabilitation was established in 1996 and has helped thousands of patients in the Palm Beach County area. Kevin Kunkel PhD, MSPT, Mld-Cdt developed the clinic with the idea that individualized exceptional care can be delivered in a cost effective manner for the patient. He was the first Corf in Florida to have a certified Vodder Lymphedema Therapist in 1999 and is the only clinic with staff on faculty at both Nova Southeastern University and The University of Miami. The clinic is fortunate to have 2 nationally reknown Yoga Instructors Emily Large and Ceci Lester who bring this knowledge into their physical therapy treatments. Both Ceci Lester and Nicola Paolucci are Massage Therapists as well as Physical Therapist Assistants. Kevin Kunkel, Nadia Mendolia and Nicola Paolucci are certified in the treatment of Lymphedema.

The Flagler Institute for Rehabilitation is proud to be certified by Medicare as a Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitative Facility (C.O.R.F.). A C.O.R.F. is a highly specialized outpatient facility that provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients requiring complex rehabilitative care. At a minimum, a C.O.R.F. must be able to provide physician services, physical therapy and social or psychological services. Here at the Flagler Institute for Rehabilitation, we offer all of these plus medical nutrition and on-site nursing. Our team of specialists works under the medical supervision of a board-certified physician.
