
Gladys Strain, Ph.D.
About us
Dr. Strain received classical training in nutrition and then completed a dietetic internship to qualify as a registered dietitian. After completing a Masters program in Public Health Nutrition she began a doctoral program with a focus on protein nutriture. She completed three years of post doctoral work in preventive medicine and attended three years of medical school. While in New York she taught the doctoral program at Columbia University Teachers college before beginning full time research in Endocrinology, first at Montefiore and then at Beth Isreal with Dr. Barnett Zumoff. She joined the Diabetes group at Mount Sinai where she met and began projects with Dr. Michel Gagner. In 2003 she transferred to Weill Cornell to continue the funded studies in progress with the Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Division.
