Gokhan Lut Akfirat, MD is a Neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Westchester and an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He specializes in dementia, epilepsy, headache and is board certified in Neurology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Medical Association. Dr. Akfirat earned his medical degree from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College and his Neurology residency at Westchester Medical Center. He completed his fellowship at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. Prior to joining NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Westchester, Dr. Akfirat served as an assistant professor of Neurology at New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital.
