Family owned business. Ray Gunder painted his first vehicle in 1972. Learning the trade at Travis Vo-Tech, where he later became a member of the board, he realized he had a natural touch for painting, as well as a love and passion for the trade.Following in his father's example, Ray knew he wanted to do something he loved, could be his own boss, and loved working with people, he left the City of Lakeland to start his own business. With the support and encouragement from his wife Deanie, together he started his dream. Gunder's steadily grew and expanded. Surviving a fire in 1996, with the help of many shop owners in Lakeland, and the support of his employees, Ray was able to keep his doors open, and his business alive.
Ray has become a leader in the Auto Repair Industry and is guest speaker at many Industry Seminars and Conventions. Gunder's is very involved in giving back to the community. Ray started the idea of the Auto Angel's Car Give-a-Way, bringing together many other shops, vendors, and the Industry to give each Christmas vehicles to the needy.
Gunder's has state of the art equipment for proper repairs to all vehicles.
