Palestine is a charming Texas city, with the feel of the deep south. Often called the Iron Horse, but better known as the Texas State Railroad, the train makes weekend excursions through the splendor of the countryside and a step back in time as visitors are transported to a time when the steam engine was the ruler of transportation.

In the heart of the city is the world famous Eilenberger's Bakery, offering for 100 years, old world recipe cakes, cookies and pastries. Or if festivals are your forte, then check out the Fall Fest/Oktoberfest (formerly Hot Pepper Fest) or Dogwood Trails Festivals, or any one of the numerous events occurring throughout the year.
