Hector M. Medina, M.D., M.P.H., is the Section Head of Advanced Cardiac Imaging, Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), at The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care. Dr. Medina’s background includes a fellowship in adult cardiac imaging, specializing in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI, at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at The Texas Heart Institute and Baylor College of Medicine, after training in internal medicine during a residency at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Medina holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Pontificia Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, where he was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics from Johns Hopkins University.
