Hinge Studios

HINGE studios is a premiere recording and mixing facility and home to GRAMMY-Award winning producer/mixer Craig Bauer. HINGE has recently moved from Chicago to Los Angeles, CA and is operating out of the former Devonshire Sound Studios in North Hollywood while a new state-of-the-art facility is being built.

Opened by Bauer in 1993, the studio was a pioneer in ushering in the world of digital recording with one of the country’s first Euphonix CSII digitally controlled recording consoles and the very first Otari RADAR 48 track hard disk recording system.

Today, HINGE continues to be on the forefront of the industry's latest technology and is one of the first commercial studios to utilize the new Avid Pro Tools S6 system. To complement the Avid S6 control surface and massive plug-in collection, clients are given the option of maintaining a fully analog back end with 48 channels of SPL Mix Dream summing amps and a large array of analog outboard gear. A full complement of both vintage and current microphones round out HINGE’s digital/analog hybrid recording environment. In addition to its incredible sounding rooms and stunning aesthetics, HINGE provides a very personalized and professional experience in a comfortable and private setting.
