About us
Huiam Mubarak, MD, is a neurologist in the Multiple Sclerosis Program and an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute. She also serves as director of Barrow Global Neurology. She is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Mubarak’s expertise is in neuroimmunology. This includes the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders affecting the brain and spinal cord. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the National Medical Association, and the Sudanese American Physicians Association.
Dr. Mubarak earned her medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and a master’s degree in biomedical science from Barry University Miami Shores. She completed her neurology residency at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, where she also completed fellowships in neuroimmunology and global neurology.
Dr. Mubarak takes a special interest in health disparities in multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunological disorders. As director of the Institute’s global neurology program, she aims to encourage more diversity and global collaboration in the field.
