About us
Dr. Stevens is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in theDivision of Nephrology at Columbia University Medical Center. He majored inNeuroscience at Bowdoin College before attending Dartmouth College School ofMedicine. He completed his internal medicine residency training atMassachusetts General Hospital where he served as Chief Resident during hissenior year before completing his nephrology fellowship at Columbia UniversityMedical Center where he was also Chief Fellow during his senior year. Hisclinical and research interests include critical care nephrology and improvingthe care provided to patients with acute kidney injury and he is the MedicalDirector of Inpatient Hemodialysis and Acute Care Nephrology at ColumbiaUniversity Irving Medical Center. In addition to his interests in kidneydisease, he is also a member of the Columbia Doctors Hypertension Center, amulti-disciplinary center of excellence that provides high-quality care andstate-of–the-art diagnostic testing for patients with hypertension.
Dr. Stevens is also a dedicated medical educator and wasrecognized with an Internal Medicine Senior Resident Teaching Award atMassachusetts General Hospital, the Columbia University Kimberg MemorialFaculty Teaching Award, and as a Columbia University Ewig Clinical Scholar andwas inducted into the Virginia Apgar Academy of Medical Educators at ColumbiaVP&S. He serves as the Associate Course Director for the Renal Physiology& Pathophysiology Course at the medical school, as the Associate Program Directorfor the Columbia University Internal Medicine Residency Program, and as anAdvisory Dean for medical students at Columbia Vagelos College of Physiciansand Surgeons.
