About us

Dr. James Steinberg is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine. He has more than twenty years of experience treating all sorts of patients; from professional athletes to elderly fractures. He has served as a team physician for a professional baseball and hockey team as well as several high school football teams. He became interested in orthopedics as a result of an injury he sustained while playing football. The injury became the inspiration of his commitment to restore anatomy and function to improve the quality of life to the patients under his care.

Dr. Steinberg provides expert surgical and non-surgical treatment options for a wide array of orthopedic conditions including fractures, arthritis, ligament injuries and meniscus tears. He specializes in knee arthroscopy, partial and total knee replacements, revision knee replacements and hip replacements. Dr. Steinberg is accepting new patients at MUSC Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and is dedicated to improving your quality of life.
