JetBlue Airways was founded on December 9th 2001 by David Neeleman and his partner, David Barger. The company started with a single aircraft in the Caribbean that offered flights to Aruba and the Dominican Republic. In 2005 JetBlue was able to buy its first Airbus A320 aircraft and expanded operations to include Miami.
