I started out in this field wanting to only work with children as my mother is an elementary school teacher and I would always hear her stories about the kids at school. While working with kids for 3 years as a respite counselor I realized that most of the things a children experiences start at home and in the environment which is what led me to expand my interest in wanting to help all ages. In training and in therapy I always use an empathetic, non-judgmental, comfortable environment that allows the person to achieve their goals. I would describe myself as being very passionate about creating a safe environment for all clients that consists of being genuine, trust worthy, encouraging and most importantly building rapport. I have extensive experience working with individuals who are experiencing behavioral, relational, emotional problems for the first time, along with working with young adults that have Bipolar, anxiety, and depression. During my career I have worked in multiple settings such as the hospital, outpatient setting, managed care and in the home.

I am here to guide, educate, support, and empower my clients. I do believe that each individual has their own path that they have traveled therefore my approach is eclectic which includes Cognitive Behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, client centered, and family systems therapy but also assisting my clients to discover which therapeutic approach works best for them. As a therapist I believe everyone can benefit from counseling. I am here to help you to feel comfortable about sharing your story and to help you discover healthy coping skills to be used during challenging times. There will be times that the topics being discussed may feel uncomfortable but therapy should be an enjoyable experience and a collaborative approach.

I earned my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Hofstra University and my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from SUNY College of Old Westbury. I am a National Certified Counselor and when I moved to Texas I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor license. I have clinical experience working with individuals experiencing first break psychosis, intellectual disabilities, geriatric population, and children.

In my spare time I enjoy working out, hanging out with my 2 year old puppy and husband. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and we moved to Dallas 2 years ago so on the weekends we like to go try new things and check out new places in our new home town. Sidebar: I am obsessed with Beyonce.
