About us
Joan Durham Center For Counseling, I enjoy working with people of all ages. I have experience in school counseling for over 20 years, and I have worked in elementary, middle and high schools including an alternative school. I have worked with clients with learning disabilities and gifted. I have worked with children who are on the autism spectrum, and with behavioral problems. I have worked with families who are experiencing changes: divorce, remarriage, blending families, moves, sickness and death, adoption and fostering families. I have also worked with many families who are family care placements who children whose parents can't care for them. I use an eclectic approach to counseling. With small children I use play, and art therapy.
