She earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Oh. and her graduate degree from California State University of Long Beach in Long Beach, Ca. Joan is board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners.
