About us
I'm a licensed psychologist and the director of orthopedic and sport psychology at Novant Health. With a specialty in athlete mental health and the mental aspects of performance, I provide consultation and psychological services to both individuals and teams. \n In my clinical work, I focus first on developing a strong therapeutic relationship with my patients and then incorporate a variety of evidence-based practices, including acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. \n I serve as the team psychologist for several professional sports teams in Charlotte, including the Charlotte Hornets, USA Field Hockey and others. Through my partnership with the United States Performance Center, a Charlotte-based training center for elite athletes and teams, I work to build mental wellness programs for a variety of national governing bodies and Olympic sport teams. \n In addition, I serve as a consultant for NFL Total Wellness and am on their team clinician advisory committee. \n I earned my bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University and my master's and doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Saint Louis University. I completed a pre-doctoral internship at Northwestern University. Prior to joining Novant Health, I worked as a sport psychologist for UNC Charlotte. \n Having been born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, I am very appreciative for the opportunity to work in this community. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, connecting with loved ones and spending time outdoors.
