About us
KAFDA is a grassroots farmers’ cooperative focused on locally grown rice and vegetables. With backing from Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the group works daily to strengthen community farming efforts and expand its agricultural output. KAFDA is primarily involved in cultivating rice and a variety of vegetables tailored to the local climate and dietary needs, as well as exploring new ways to scale up production and enhance farming sustainability. Our goal is to boost local food security by increasing access to nutritious, homegrown produce, empowering farmers through skills development and improved farming techniques, and growing from village-level operation into a resilient, larger-scale agricultural enterprise.
