Dr. Shafer received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Illinois College in Jacksonville. She
later attended medical school at the University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic
Medicine. She completed her residency at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Dr. Shafer is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
