About us
Dr. Desai completedschool at Michigan State University - College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Dr. Desai is trained and qualified in a wide array of cardiac fields. In addition to board certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, he is certified by the National Board of Echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound), the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (radioisotope imaging) and the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (cardiac pacing and cardioversion defibrillation). He is trained in Cardiovascular CT angiography and is skilled in a variety of diagnostic procedures including heart catheterization, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and transesophageal echocardiography.He is the Medical Director for the western region of Piedmont Heart Institute, and is also the Medical Director of Piedmont Heart Institute Imaging Labs- Echocardiography. Although his primary focus is on cardiology, Dr. Desai's training and practice is based on a philosophy of holistic medicine - caring for patients as a whole rather than disease entities. He is based out of the PHI-Austell office in Austell, GA.
