A distinguished medical oncologist and hematologist, Kit Ling Cheng, MD, is a recognized expert in the treatment of breast and gynecologic cancers. She is an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and holds a leadership role within the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, focusing her expertise at the Center for Women's Cancer and the RJ Zuckerberg Cancer Center.Dr. Cheng has dedicated over 16 years to advancing patient care in oncology. She actively participates as a principal and sub-investigator for clinical trials, ensuring patients have access to the most innovative treatment options. Her extensive collaborations have resulted in significant contributions to scientific publications, deepening the understanding and treatment of breast and gynecologic cancers. Dr. Cheng is also deeply committed to educating and mentoring the next generation of oncology specialists, having served as Associate Program Director and Program Director for the Hematology/Oncology fellowship at her institution. Her unwavering dedication to supporting her patients and ensuring exceptional care has earned her numerous accolades, including the esteemed Patient Choice Award in 2024, which highlights her commitment to outstanding patient care and experience.Board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology, Dr. Cheng earned her Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Hematology & Oncology at North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Cheng's areas of focus include breast cancer and medical gynecology oncology. She is fluent in Cantonese and English, further enhancing her ability to connect with and care for a diverse patient population.
