In addition, he is a reconstructive surgeon for cancer defects and performs simple to complex reconstructive surgeries requiring free tissue transfer or microsurgery.
Jain has expertise in head and neck cancer and reconstruction, with fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology. He spent a year in fellowship learning robotic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where the technology was pioneered. He performs minimally invasive transoral robotic surgery for throat cancer patients.
He is also an associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He’s a member of the American Head and Neck Society.
Jain received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Cornell University, spending his junior year at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom. After earning his medical degree in 2009 at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, he completed his otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He joined the faculty of McGovern Medical School after completing fellowship training in head and neck oncology, robotic surgery, and microvascular reconstruction at the University of Pennsylvania in 2015.
Jain is a reviewer for multiple journals, including Head and Neck and JAMA Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery. His research interests include improving head and neck oncologic and reconstructive procedure outcomes.
