Stayed: October 2013
We had a family gathering here - 42 people in all. It was a great place to meet. The kids loved running around exploring the lake, woods, etc. My mom organized everything and I know the proprietor was very patient with her in working out all the details. My cousin mailed his golf game - hula hoops and flags, we played golf on the lawn in front of the lake. The resort is a little slice of heaven with great mountain views, lake views and great for star gazing you just can't replicate in town.
We had a week of memories here that will last us a life time.

Our wedding party and other friends our age stayed at this hotel for the entire weekend of our Cooperstown wedding. Though the Lake House is located about 15 minutes north of the village proper, the property is nestled next to a lovely lake and within a 5 minute-drive of a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, etc. in Richfield Springs.

With bedrooms off of the two central common rooms was the perfect layout for our group preparations and celebrations. The decor was charming, woodsy, and cozy- perfect for the style of our wedding and fitting for the area. Chris, the owner and manager, allowed us to bring our two dogs as well! Having the freedom to use the entirety of the hotel for our group was the epitome of relaxing. We did not have to worry about bothering other guests or running into people we didn't know at the height of our wedding stress.

Along with the cozy accommodations, Chris made us all a delicious and hot breakfast every morning. She was excellent to work with from our first visit in May, through the booking process, and through the most perfect wedding weekend ever!

We highly recommend this hotel for large groups. It was clean, welcoming, and the staff is wonderful. Though we were too busy to enjoy the lake, I have no doubts that the activities available to guests are fantastic as well. The price is hard to beat!

When my son's baseball team was honored with a opportunity to play a game on the famous Doubleday Field in Cooperstown, NY, of course the family & I were going up to spend a week in this cozy little BaseBall Town USA. I searched the Internet of various motels, hotels and B&B in the area. I sure was glad when I discovered the Lake House Hotel. A wonderful, family run hotel just outside of downtown Cooperstown. The rooms are comfortable, spotless, and come with many extras (i.e. refrigerator, microwave, great coffee) The couple who run the hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful. Considering the low price, it's a tremendous value. Ditch the big chains and stay here.

Debbie and I heard that the Lakehouse would be open on Easter for a buffet so we took the grand kids and drove up.We were not disappointed the food was excellent they have a fantastic crew in the kitchen. We spoke with Gene and Chris who are the owners and found out they are building a walkway from the back deck to an outside bar.We walked down and they are using a rather large sailboat called the Jack Tar turning it into a bar called the Jack Tar shipwreck bar. When we go back to the lake for the summer we are going to have to go see the new things they are doing at the Lake House.

I just can't say enough good things about this place. We were visiting the hall of fame and this is our 2nd visit in 3 months to the Lake House. Everything was perfect. I had the filet chef's special and my husband the small plate of lamb. The extensive wine list and awesome bread and perfect service. Just love this restaurant !
