Dr. Simpson completed his undergraduate training and earned his medical degree summa cum laude from Emory University in Atlanta. He served a general surgery internship and an orthopedic surgery residency with Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. He then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital of Harvard University in Boston. Dr. Simpson then returned to Atlanta to complete a cardiology fellowship with Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. He is board certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and National Board of Medical Examiners. He also sat for the Cardiovascular Board Exam and is certified in both basic and advanced cardiac life support (BCLS and ACLS). He is currently a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Simpson is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He currently is in practice at the Roswell location of the Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians.
