About Orlando

Orlando’s famous theme parks are only the beginning of what makes the city special—and a great place to live and learn as a student of the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando.

Orlando has been called “Hollywood East” because of the city’s thriving film-making scene. Orlando is also home to a substantial theatre population consisting of several professional and semi-professional houses and many community theaters, including the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Orlando Theatre Project, and Mad Cow Theatre. Disney also operates a cast theater company known as S.T.A.G.E.

Orlando’s vibrant dining scene is one of the city’s major assets. The city’s nearly 5,400 restaurants include steak houses, seafood spots, sports-themed restaurants, and much more. One of America’s most intriguing regional cuisines—combining elements of Spanish, French, Caribbean, and soul-food cooking and using local ingredients—can also be found in Orlando and throughout Florida.
