Leah R Flaherty, PsyD

Leah R Flaherty, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in pain psychology. As Clinical Director of the Empowered Relief program at Allegheny Health Network, she is dedicated to helping individuals manage and reduce chronic pain through evidence-based interventions.

She received her doctorate from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and completed an internship in clinical psychology at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina. She then completed a fellowship in clinical psychology at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Flaherty is passionate about educating patients on the neuroscience of pain and empowering them with self-management strategies to improve their quality of life. Dr. Flaherty is a member of the American Association of Suicidology, Society for Health Psychology, and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.

She frequently presents on pain psychology, mind-body connection, and related topics, and her publications include work in Pain Reports and the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved, among others.
