About us

Dr. Chung is a vascular neurologist at the University of Utah Stroke Center. He grew up in East Tennessee and received his A.B. in Psychology from Harvard College. His developed a passion for the neurosciences through studies of cognitive psychology and the neuroanatomic underpinnings of behavior. He attended medical school at University of California, San Diego and completed internship and neurology residency at the University of Utah. Subsequently he completed his subspecialty training in stroke at the University of Utah under the mentorship of Dr. Jennifer Majersik. His current research interests include stroke care delivery systems including telestroke and prehospital management, and understanding the neurophysiology of cortical spreading depolarization in acute neurovascular injury. He has also participates in acute stroke treatment trials, the biorepository for patients with cerebral venous thrombosis, and cross-disciplinary education on the management of patients with stroke.
