About us
Lindsey Maxwell, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) at Prisma Health OB/GYN (9 Medical Park) in Columbia. Maxwell grew up in Lexington, South Carolina, and then went on to attend Clemson University to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. (Go, Tigers!) During her nursing clinicals, she saw her first vaginal birth and knew childbirth was her calling. After graduation, she moved back home and worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse at Palmetto Health Baptist for a few years. She then transferred into Labor and Delivery (L&D) to gain more experience in the birthing world before applying for midwifery school.
She continued her work in L&D while getting her master's in nursing, specializing in nurse midwifery at Frontier Nursing University, and she graduated from there in 2020. Maxwell then practiced as a CNM outside of Atlanta from 2020–22, where she gained invaluable experience in a high acuity and high volume OB/GYN practice. She is so excited to be back home where can serve her home community!
Maxwell takes pride in delivering holistic, compassionate healthcare for women of all ages. She strives to come alongside patients to educate and empower them to take control of their health and well-being. She wants her patients to know the options available to them and for them to make informed and educated decisions regarding their healthcare.
Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her family, friends and two pups. Overall, however, Maxwell wants you to know that she can't imagine a better job and can't wait to meet you!
