Karla Lester, M.D. is a pediatrician, board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and professionally certified life and weight coach, who specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents struggling with their weight, metabolic health, and body image. Dr. Lester has been an expert advocate for decades working to address the epidemic of child and adolescent obesity on local, state and national levels. Dr. Lester works with both the parent and the teen and uses tele-health and the latest research and best practices in her treatment plans to improve weight status and reduce diseases like type 2 diabetes and PCOS. She prescribes GLP1 medications according to the FDA criteria as determined by the STEP Teens trial.
