About us

Luis Pluguez, PA-C, received his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and is nationally certified. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Emmanuel College. He is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants, and the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. He has worked in the greater Athens area for the past 4 years. Prior to joining Piedmont Orthopedics, Luis worked in Urgent Care treating various orthopedic injuries and conditions. He is veteran with 8 years of military service in the U.S. Air Force Reserves where he worked as a medic. Luis treats orthopedic injuries, sports related injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. He enjoys getting to know his patients and building healthy patient-provider relationships. Outside of work, Luis enjoys spending time with his family, engaging in an active lifestyle, and serving his local community through church related activities.
