Dr. M. Behzad Zafar is a board-certified gastroenterologist with significant clinical experience in managing digestive health. He trained at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency in 2009, and his Gastroenterology Fellowship in 2013. He provides comprehensive care for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, with a strong commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, and has been consistently recognized as a Texas Super Doctor and one of Houstonia Magazine’s Top Doctors.

“I chose a career in Gastroenterology because it gives me the opportunity to help people in many different ways. From routine colon cancer screenings and polyp removal to managing acid reflux, abdominal pain, and digestive conditions like Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, I work with patients across a wide range of concerns. I also perform endoscopic procedures, treat liver conditions such as Hepatitis B and C, and provide care for many other gastrointestinal issues. I completed all of my post-graduate training in Houston’s Texas Medical Center, where I developed not only my medical expertise but also a strong connection to this city.
