Established in 1998.

Maine Natural Gas (MNG) was established to provide the comfortable, clean-burning, versatile and affordable natural gas energy option to communities in Maine. We believe the future growth and health of Maine's local economy depends, in part, on a more diverse energy supply. MNG is proud to play a role in enhancing Maine's economy by offering a competitive and clean energy option to homes and businesses.

In past years, most of Maine relied primarily on oil or electricity for heating, cooling, water heating and manufacturing. With the construction of two major natural gas transmission lines from Canada through Maine during the late 90's, all that is changing. By tapping these lines and building safe and reliable local distribution systems, MNG is offering communities access to natural gas for the first time.
