About us
Dr. Walton earned a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from Vanderbilt University. She has been working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1998. In 2014, Maria earned a PhD from Tennessee State University, and is currently licensed as a Psychologist.
Maria specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, and women’s issues. Maria utilizes a psychodynamic approach in her work with clients, helping clients to identify and correct maladaptive patterns of relating with the self and others.
