I focus on prevention of chronic disease such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity. I care for patients with the full range of chronic and acute illnesses that adults may experience over the course of their lives. My background and initial training in academic philosophy, followed by a career as a professional firefighter, led to the realization that the practice of medicine could bring together those essential aspects of each and that I could thereby serve humanity to my fullest
