About us
Dr. Blackmon earned his medical degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He then went on to complete both general surgery internship and a urology residency at the Medical College of Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree in microbiology and cell science from the University of Florida. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Blackmon was a physician with Halifax Health Center for Urology, located in Daytona Beach, Florida, for six years. He is board certified with the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association. In addition to contributing to various urological research articles, Dr. Blackmon has made numerous presentations on the topic. He has special interest in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, endourology/percutaneous stone surgery, surgical and medical management of erectile dysfunction, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms and is skilled in the Urolift procedure. In his spare time, Dr. Blackmon enjoys golfing, scuba diving, jet skiing, racquetball, and fishing. Dr. Blackmon welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
