About us
Like many orthopedic surgeons, my motivation was personal. A fracture dislocation in my ankle in my senior year ended my baseball career, but it got me interested in medicine and orthopedics. I treat a lot of traumatic injuries - multiple injuries and fractures - and I perform lots of joint replacements. Robotic technology and augmented reality is almost standard care by now. I also perform traumatic limb salvage, which often involves taking skin or bone from one part of the body and using it to replace tissue lost to injury and hooking up blood vessels microscopically to avoid amputation. In orthopedics, we fix problems. In other fields you manage problems that never go away, but in orthopedics, it's typically a mechanical problem we can fix. Every patient and problem is unique, and that's how we care for them, whether it's a trauma situation or joint replacement. We can fine-tune treatment to the patient and their need.
