About us

Michael Chu, DO, earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences and completed his residency at Tufts Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree in bioengineering from University of California Berkeley and is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Chu has been practicing medicine for 7 years. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Chu was practicing at Kaiser Permanente. Dr. Chu specializes in spine and sports conditions that include neck and low back pain, tailbone pain, joint pain, and musculoskeletal pain. Treatments include variety of procedures which include: Epidural steroid injections, Facet injections and medial branch blocks, Radiofrequency ablations, Spinal cord stimulator trial, Shoulder, hip, and knee injections including genicular nerve radiofrequency ablation, Sacroiliac joint injections and radiofrequency ablation, and Piriformis injections. Dr. Chu has a special interest in partnering with people to overcome their pain so they can live the lives they want to live. In his spare time, Dr. Chu enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, basketball and mountain biking. Dr. Chu is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
