About us
Andrea Yoshiko Carter PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama. She later graduated from Walden University with a master’s degree in nursing. Before finding a passion for mental health, Andrea spent 13 years treating patients with cardiovascular disease, heart failure, heart transplant and other chronic medical conditions.
Andrea has experience treating adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. She is also trained in psychotherapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy and brain-spottin.
