Dr. Neil Modi (he/him/his) is a board-certified infectious diseases and internal medicine physician. He specializes in caring for people living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ patients, and individuals with complex or drug-resistant infections, with a particular interest in HIV and STI prevention. He also provides travel medicine consultations tailored to each patient's destinations and activities. He primarily sees patients in the outpatient setting, with some dedicated inpatient care provided at Phelps Hospital and Northern Westchester Hospital.He earned his medical degree from the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in 2023 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Mpox outbreak. He went on to complete his Infectious Diseases fellowship in 2025 through UCLA's Multicampus Infectious Diseases Fellowship, training across major academic centers, community hospitals, the VA, and a county hospital.Dr. Modi has specialized training in HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections, with substantial clinical experience at AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) Health. He is experienced in long-acting injectable therapies for PrEP and HIV treatment and in managing complex antiretroviral histories, while remaining current with emerging therapies. A significant portion of his practice is dedicated to providing inclusive, patient-centered care for lesbian, bisexual, gay, and transgender/gender non-binary patients.His clinical interests include managing complex infections, multidrug-resistant organisms, nontuberculous mycobacterial infections, and antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship. During his fellowship, he gained extensive experience caring for patients with weakened immune systems, including those with cancer, organ transplants, or receiving advanced therapies. Drawing on his experiences as a solo traveler, he provides personalized travel medicine consultations with guidance on malaria prevention, travel vaccinations, and strategies to stay healthy abroad.Outside of work, Dr. Modi is an avid traveler, cinephile, and hiking enthusiast. He enjoys exploring New York City on evenings and weekends, discovering hidden gems, catching Broadway shows, and sampling the city's best food spots.
