CHALLENGE CUP TOURNAMENT- VERY POOR I have visited this rink several times as a parent to watch my son's peewee team play. I have to say I, the most common conversation among parents in the stands is the poor ice and officiating quality. First, the officiating in the first game of the tournament on rink 4 on Friday night, one of the referees, a teenager, was working with an older gentleman. To me and the surrounding parents, I would have thought the teenager was the more experienced official, he skated fast and hard, and called good penalties on both sides. The other official, the older gentleman, looked as though he did not want to be there, he was out of position, SLOW, called no penalties, and skated without his whistle on his hand, often gazing into space, not at the play. Forgive me, but it seems as though their young officials seem to be their best officials. Second, the ice quality at NESC is excruciatingly terrible. The lines on rink 4, and 3 are so faded off sides...
