Northgate Pet Clinic and Veterinary Dentistry is a full-service AAHA (American Animal Hospital Associaton) facility. Most veterinary clinics do not qualify as such, and regular inspections are performed to ensure that we live up to AAHA standards. Customer service and quality veterinary medicine have remained our priorities for almost forty years. We have six highly-qualified doctors, including a dental specialist. We have six state-certified veterinary technicians, each graduating from a two or three year college technician program. They have devoted their careers to animal care--and each of them cares! We have 24-hour emergency service and can be reached any hour of the day or night for emergency care. Our facilities include both digital dental and digital whole-body radiology that can give us an x-ray image on a computer screen in just six seconds--and you are welcome to take the image with you on a CD that we can prepare for you at no additional fee. There are no other clinics with these capablilites that we know of, in central Illinois, at this time. We are members of the specialists Veterinary Information Network, comprising hundreds of specialists and thousands of veterinarians who can help and suggest solutions for difficult cases in a matter of hours. Our principle products for flea and heartworm and other parasite control are absolutely guaranteed to be effective, and that guarantee is both from our clinic and from the reputable pharmaceutical manufacturers we choose. We have modern contemporary ultrasound equipment for diagnosing pregnancy, pathologic changes in major body organs, and other important changes in your pet's body. We are also one of few clinics that has bone-plating equipment so we can offer the best of care when it comes to bone fractures and other bone repairs. Our 24 computers are all capable of networking with each other so all cases, records, x-rays, and VIN information can be accessed on any of the computers. We also have introduced Pet Portals, so that we can give you a password to access your own pet's records from your personal computer at home. We can also send you e-mail reminders when your pet's vaccinations or other procedures are due. We will be adding a new large reception area this summer, and an additional three examination rooms for your convenience. We work closely with the Decatur and Macon County Humane Society, The Decatur Animal Shelter Foundation, Homeward Bound, and other pet rescue organizations. We would appreciate allowing us to care for your pets--whether they be dogs, cats, ferrets, or 'pocket pets,' such as a guinea pigs, hamsters, or any avian species.
